    About Florence: Florence is a social entrepreneur and project management consultant based in New York and Accra. She is a graduate of New York University where she studied urban policy and economics, and Stanford University where she received her undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. At Refined Creative, Florence is the lead consultant for Distribution and Development, thus leveraging her technical acumen, value networks and exposure to connect the team with relevant partners.

    Florence’s Work: Passionate about the positive impact that educators can have on the lives of children, Florence pursued a career in teaching after her undergraduate degree.  As a Teach for America corps member living and working in Washington, D.C., she began to understand the impact of public policy on the social and economic welfare of urban communities. Florence has spent a great part of her career working with public and nonprofit organizations focusing on community and economic development. A highlight of her career accomplishments is facilitating the development of over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial, residential and institutional space in New York City.

    Florence’s Affiliations: Florence is founder and principal of ArgoAdu, LLC a project management consultancy; and co-founder and CEO of LEAP Transmedia, a production company that develops content for children and families in Ghana. In addition, Ms. Adu is founder and creative director of Gbekembe, a children’s clothing and accessories fashion line featuring made-in-Ghana handcrafted items. Ms. Adu is an aspiring author. She is involved with a biography project about Robert C. Weaver, the inaugural Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the first African-American appointed to a cabinet position.
